About the Project
Tree planting is more than placing seedlings in the ground. It is an investment in cleaner air, healthier surroundings and a more sustainable future. Through this initiative, members and partners came together at Kamiti Maximum Security Prison to plant trees and encourage long-term environmental stewardship.
The project reflected our belief that meaningful environmental action can take root anywhere.
The Challenge
Environmental degradation and declining tree cover continue to affect communities through rising temperatures, soil erosion and reduced air quality.
Institutions with large compounds also present valuable opportunities to restore green spaces and establish trees that can serve future generations.
Our Action
The project brought together Rotaractors, partners, volunteers and members of the Kamiti community for a shared day of environmental service.
Activities included:
- Preparing designated planting areas
- Planting tree seedlings
- Promoting responsible tree care
- Encouraging environmental awareness
- Building connections through collective service
